Fits: Craftsman 51865 4-1/2” swivel-base bench vise (USA-made). Direct replacement for the stock steel jaw inserts, mounted with the vise’s own 1/4-20 jaw screws.

Replacement soft jaws for the Craftsman 51865, printed in engineering-grade carbon fiber-infused polyamide. The screw-head recesses are cut to the 51865’s conical-head jaw screws with a 45° seat, so the stock screws bed flush and pull the jaw square to the casting. The face stands 3 mm proud of the original insert for clearance, and the pair prints with a 3 mm gap so it doubles as a cutting template.

Engineered to hold parts securely without marring, they’re suited to suspension components, anodized and painted parts, threaded parts, and anything else the stock serrated steel would chew.

Specifications:

• Jaw size: 114.3 × 19 × 12 mm (4.50 × 0.75 × 0.47 in)

• Screw spacing: 63.5 mm (2.50 in) center to center, holes 6.35 mm (1/4 in) above the jaw bottom

• Hardware: reuses the stock 1/4-20 conical-head jaw screws; 7 mm clearance holes, 10 mm head recess

Read more: Why My Vise Stopped Eating Bike Parts, on what these jaws do in a bike shop and why steel jaws are the wrong tool for bike parts.

What bike shops use them for:

• Hub tools: Clamp a hub, freehub or cassette lockring tool in the jaws and turn the wheel onto it. Both hands stay on the wheel and the tool cannot walk off the splines.

• Steerer tube cutting: Hold the saw guide square and steady while you cut a fork steerer to length.

• Crank arms: Grip a crank arm flat without marring the finish for pedal removal, pedal thread repair, or pressing out a stubborn spindle.

• Shock bushings: Use the vise as a press. The flat jaws seat squarely on the eyelet and drive bushings and reducers in and out without scarring the shock body.

• General purpose: Flat, non-marring faces for everything else on the bench, from brake calipers and derailleurs to suspension parts and dropper posts.

Key Features:

• Solid Face Profile: Ideal for gripping a wide range of parts

• Engineering Grade Carbon Fiber Polyamide: Built for unmatched strength and durability

• Perfect Fit for Craftsman 51865: Hole spacing and head recesses matched to the vise

• Chemical Resistant: Withstands oils, chemicals, and other shop substances

• Non-Abrasive Grip: Protects sensitive surfaces from scratches and damage

• 🇺🇸 Made in the USA: Printed in Austin, Texas
